The SaddleBrooke Republican Club of SaddleBrooke hosted the Republican candidates for the Corporation Commission at the February General Meeting in the MVCC Ballroom.  Members sat at tables scattered throughout the ballroom and the candidates moved from table to table in 7 minute increments. This format enabled SBRC members the opportunity to become familiar with the candidates and to ask them questions about their various policies concerning the functioning of the Corporation Commission.

The candidates attending were: Nick Myers, Neil Desanti, David Farnsworth, Kim Owens and Eric Sloan.  Lea Marquez Peterson and Boyd Dunn were in Washington, D.C.  Ms. Peterson had a very knowledgeable staff member representing her.

The Arizona Corporation Commission’s mission is to ensure safe, reliable,  and affordable utility services have railroad and pipeline systems that are operated and maintained in a safe manner, grow Arizona’s economy as they help local entrepreneurs achieve their dream of starting a business, modernize an efficient and responsive government agency and protect Arizona citizens  by enforcing an ethical securities marketplace.

In addition to the candidates for the Corporation Commission, Tom Hodges gave a slide presentation to SBRC members about Troop Support, an organization designed to aid military and their families in the area.
